The Journées Nationales de l'Architecture are back! On October 18 and 19, 2025, the monuments and spaces of Paris and the Île-de-France region have a festival of cultural highlights in store for you, dedicated to the plurality of the built environment, whether classic or recent. It's an opportunity to get your foot in the door of architecture, whether you're an expert on the subject or just curious, thanks to activities that are often free of charge, including guided tours, family workshops and other fun activities.
A major part of the museum's collections is devoted to Claude Debussy, a composer whose innovative work profoundly changed classical music and paved the way for twentieth-century experimentation. Debussy's personal objects, the sources of his inspiration, as well as numerous family mementos, photos and scores are brought together in the 17th-century house where the composer spent the first three years of his life, his parents having run an earthenware store there.
Designated a "Maison des illustres", the house retains its original layout of two main buildings linked by a wooden baluster staircase dating from 1680, listed as a Historic Monument. Please note: reservations are essential!

The only old house in the historic center open to visitors, the Maison natale Claude-Debussy has survived the centuries by adapting its architecture to domestic, commercial and rental use. What was it like to live here during the Renaissance? Under Louis XIV? In the mid-19th century, when the Debussy family ran their earthenware store?
