In 2017, Île Seguin, a small vessel gliding along the Seine near Boulogne-Billancourt, transformed into a vibrant hub for art and culture, called the Seine Musicale. Previously home to Renault factories and workshops, this island has reclaimed its historic prestige and is gradually developing 11 hectares of exciting projects, especially on the upstream tip. There, a major cultural complex is taking shape: La Pointe des Arts, which will feature a contemporary art center, a cinema, and shops — all set to open by 2026.
This S16/S17 project, designed by the architecture firms RCR Arquitectes and CALQ, aims to blend nature and culture seamlessly. Overlooking the panoramic terrace of the cultural center, visitors will be able to stroll through a garden sheltered from the city and along the water’s edge. This part of the island, entirely pedestrian, is also set to feature a sprawling 3.5-hectare park dotted with monumental sculptures. In addition to shops, offices, and restaurants, this new space will host a 4-star hotel with 221 rooms offering spectacular views of the Seine.
