Bar du OFF Paris Seine: the unusual floating poolside bar overlooking the Seine

Looking for a break with flow? Head for the bar at OFF Paris Seine, a floating hotel moored at the foot of the Gare d'Austerlitz and a stone's throw from the Cité de la Mode et du Design(Paris 13th). Here, cocktails glide as smoothly as the barges past the large bay windows and central basin... but be warned: only hotel guests can take a dip! For those of us who come to enjoy an afterwork, the pool remains a dream setting to be admired from our tables. So, yes, in midsummer, when it's 35°C, we may feel slightly taunted by those splashing about in front of us. In low season, on the other hand, the pool is an integral part of the ambience and a pleasure to sit beside.

Here, everyone chooses their camp (depending on availability): tables by the pool for a total change of scenery, or the bar room with its large picture windows to admire the parade of barges without missing a thing. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff friendly and welcoming.

On the drinks side, the menu offers classic cocktails, mocktails and 7 variations of Spritz. We found the latter a little too diluted, like a "Spritz-piscine", but the planks raise the bar: classic, but pretty and generous. The formula 2 cocktails + 1 board for two at €42 is a great way to try out the menu without breaking the budget. Charcuterie, cheese, mixed, vegetarian or sweet, there's something for everyone!

The room's minimalist decor is enhanced by a metal ceiling, like a fragmented mirror reflecting the light and ripples of the Seine. The terrace beside the basin, a little narrow but charming, is ideal for admiring the sunset.

In short, the OFF Paris Seine bar remains a floating getaway worth trying out: a moment that swings between Paris and elsewhere, without leaving the capital.
