Merouan Bounekraf, former Top Chef contestant (season 10), has settled in Paris's 15th arrondissement. He's just opened Panade, his first bakery-pastry shop, which is both warm and ultra-gourmet, with savoury and sweet offerings inside, of course, not forgetting viennoiseries and good bread! Would you like a tour?

After taking part in Top Chef, then in the TV show"Mon gâteau est le meilleur de France" as a member of the jury, and finally publishing two recipe books, Merouan Bounekraf still needed to surprise us and tantalize our taste buds. He's done just that with the opening of Panade. Located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, this bakery and patisserie knows how to welcome you! The cheerful team is all smiles, the place is warm and inviting, and above all, there's a beautiful window behind which you'll find mouth-watering viennoiseries, beautiful loaves of bread, and tasty savoury and sweet proposals in the form of tarts.

I might as well tell you right now, but you won't know which way to turn with all this. And if you're familiar with Merouan Bounekraf, then you can imagine that the Chef couldn't resist coming up with a few original names for each of his creations, with puns all his own, and we're fans! These include the " T'as une tâche " tart (with pistachio), the caloric (and non-diet) lemon and hazelnut bar, and the " Truffion " (a Viennese bread flavored with truffles).

But let's stop procrastinating and get to the heart of the matter with, for those with a sweet tooth, a number of beautiful and delicious pastries, such as the cappuccino " Tartuccinno " , the excellent " KK8 ", a long tartlet with an intense peanut flavour, the " Marrondarine " (a chestnut and mandarin cream tart) or the pear and elderberry tart, not forgetting the unmissable tarte tropézienne.... so many different flavors to delight the palate and the eyes of the gourmets in your life!

For a lighter sweet treat, opt for the strawberry and pistachio calorie bar (4.50€), the generous pistachio and white chocolate cookie (5.50€), the lemon hazelnut financier (3.50€) or the Gianduja smiley (6.50€) (happy or not, depending on your mood).

If you're more of a savory type, then Panade hopes to arouse your curiosity with a choice of three tarts: the " Tartruffe " (with truffle and topped with an egg), the " Tartichaut " (with artichoke) and the " Burratarte " (you've probably guessed it, with burrata). You can expect to pay between €10 and €12.50 for a savory tart. You can also try a savory version of the " Cruffin " , a puff pastry brioche.

When it comes to viennoiseries, there's plenty to choose from, including the classic croissants and pains au chocolat, as well as the two-taste croissant (with a surprise inside), the " Raisintine " (a revisited raisin bread), the ultra-indulgent " Brownantine ", not forgetting the famous brioche, and the unmissable " Panadais " , the house's best-seller.

And let's not forget the breads on offer at Panade, because this is a bakery-pastry shop. Wholemeal bread, corn bread, farmhouse bread, spelt bread, sandwich bread, 6-grain bread... the hardest part will be choosing, but don't hesitate to ask for advice if you're in doubt.

And to top it all off, Panade also offers a small grocery corner, including chocolate in collaboration with Valrhona, so you can make your own pastries like a chef!

With the arrival of this new Parisian bakery and patisserie, the 15th arrondissement no longer has to be jealous of its neighbors.
So, are you ready to push open the doors of Panade, and sample Merouan Bounekraf' s mouth-watering sweet and savoury tarts?

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
