As the competitions for the Paris's best traditional baguette and for the Île-de-France's best butter croissant prepare to return, the gourmet contest for the best sandwich in Greater Paris organized by the Syndicat des boulangers du Grand Paris unveils the standings for this 3e édition.
While baguettes, viennoiseries and other pastries line the counters in Parisian and Île-de-France bakeries, sandwiches are also taking an increasingly prominent place in the display. From the traditional jambon beurre to the rosette sandwich, through tuna mayonnaise... everyone has their own little favorite.
So this year, the Syndicat des boulangers du Grand Paris aimed to crown the best sandwich in Grand Paris by staging the third edition of this dedicated competition. To that end, 41 bakery artisans registered, all based in Paris, in the Hauts-de-Seine, in the Seine-Saint-Denis or in the Val-de-Marne. All were judged on three sandwiches: a chicken sandwich, a vegetarian sandwich and a fish sandwich.
The panel, made up of gastronomy professionals, had to pick from an array of remarkably indulgent and varied recipes. After sniffing, touching and tasting the many sandwiches in competition, the jury ultimately ruled and named the boulangerie Pépite, située dans le 11e arrondissement, as the big winner of this edition.
They are closely followed by Maison Marnay, in Paris's 4th arrondissement, and the Fournil Gourmand in Noisy-le-Grand, which climbs to third place on the podium.

The contest doesn’t stop there! The grand winner will have the honor of representing Greater Paris at the Finale Nationale du Meilleur Sandwich de France, which will take place on 11 May 2026 on the forecourt of Notre-Dame, for the Fête du Pain. A cannot-miss event for all bread- and bakery enthusiasts.
