Maison Petrossian is unveiling a new location this fall, perhaps the most intimate of all, in homage to its origins. Named Mantchouk, this restaurant andcaterer offersa range of small Armenian dishes.
What inspiredMikael Petrossian to create Mantchouk? His grandmother Irène and his aunts, all of whom were great cooks who gathered the family around large tables laden with traditional dishes:soubeureg (cheese lasagna),dolmas (stuffed vegetables),mantis (ravioli with beef, vegetables, or salmon), beuregs (crispy little pastries filled with cheese, spinach or meat),eetch saladmade with bulgur wheat, tomatoes and herbs, soudjouks andbastermas (spicy beef charcuterie).
Curious diners can now discover all these family-style dishes and exotic flavors atMantchouk, any time of day! Fancy a lunch break? Mantchouk offerslavash basterma sandwiches to take away orkotletys (meatballs) to enjoy on the premises! Feeling peckish for a snack? You'll find gatas (sweet rolls), vatrouchkas (cheesecakes), tcheuregs (braided brioches) and even chocolate pirojkis!
And for an original dinner at home, take away as many vospov keuftés (cold lentil and bulgur keuftés), beetroot bortsch, tzatziki, marinated pepper salad, or eggplant stuffed with onions and tomatoes as you like. And don't forget the drinks: kwass(a traditional soda), local wines, and imported beers!
Your taste buds are in for a treat!
