Discovered by the general public in Top Chef, chef Mohamed Cheikh has, since his participation and great victory in 2021, taken on a series of ephemeral projects, in turn opening a restaurant in the Jardin des Plantes, signing collaborations with the Pagode de Cos and Burger Père & Fils, or signing a festive dinner cruise on the Diamant Bleu.
This time, Mohamed Cheikh is back with a project of his own: the opening of a Mediterranean brasserie in Saint-Ouen, Seine-Saint-Denis. Named Meïda, this new address will offer a "culinary escapade of sun-drenched flavours", with influences from Italy, Morocco, Lebanon, Spain...
Here, starters are conceived as mezze to be shared with eggplant caviar, Zaatar hummus (to be accompanied by ultra-fresh pita bread), smoked potato and piquillo tortilla, merguez arancini...
On the main course, you can choose from a range of fine meat and fish options, includingfragrant roast poultry with tlitli bird tongues, beef tenderloin tartare or sirloin steak with merguez spices, or the must-try tuna crudo served with vinegared rice and avocado cream, or gnocchi with prawns. A vegetarian option is also available on the menu, with beautiful radiatori with summer truffles and mushrooms.
All to be accompanied by the address's house drinks: we're thinking in particular of the lemonade prepared daily, non-alcoholic cocktails and other detox delights (ginger, pineapple, apple, lemon, ginger), homemade iced tea or bissap.
Finally, if you've got any room left, don't miss out on the à la carte desserts: the profiterole revisited in a very gourmet, 100% gianduja version (chocolate ice cream, whipped cream, caramelized hazelnuts...), the rice pudding scented with orange blossom, the chocolate cream... All served with hot mint tea.
Count on €19.50 for the lunchtime starter/main course or main course/dessert, €12 for the children's menu, €6.50 to €19.50 for starters, €18.50 to €25.50 for main courses and €8 to €12 for desserts. A very fine table that takes you on a gustatory journey, and one that we recommend you try out in Saint-Ouen!
