“My cooking is deeply connected to nature,” says chef Angèle Ferreux-Maeght, who has completely revamped the restaurant’s menu. “It’s an explosion of flavors, and above all, it’s food that takes you on a journey, made with French produce.” In short, a delicious restaurant serving healthy dishes made with fine ingredients, and a mostly vegetarian menu (which still includes a meat and a fish option).
On the menu, seasonal produce features in the delicious dishes at Jardin Folia. The chef makes a point of crafting the menu solely around what’s in season, with the menu changing every three months. For a gentle start, the sharing platter features four dips to enjoy with pita bread: butternut squash cream, za’atar-spiced hummus, creamy avocado and falafel. The crispy bites made with sheep’s tomme are another crowd-pleaser, as is the sea bass crudo, prepared like a ceviche.
For the main course, the chicken supreme served in its own juices is reminiscent of Sunday lunches, with its crispy potatoes, while the black rice risotto (and squash) is delicately creamy and comforting. For salad lovers, the menu features a large quinoa salad and a fish option (here, sea bass fillet). The chef focuses on a short but perfectly mastered menu: lovely flavor combinations, beautifully presented plates and plenty of indulgence throughout, for young and old alike.
For something sweet, we can only recommend trying the chocolate mousse with olive oil and fleur de sel, the pumpkin pavlova with chestnut cream, or the comforting pear and apple compote topped with a generous coconut whipped cream.
Children have their own menu too, with a main course, dessert and drink in a childhood-inspired set menu. Crispy chicken, coquillettes with sheep’s milk tomme, chocolate mousse, olive oil and fleur de sel... A proper set menu just like the grown-ups’—for €15. Children are also welcome at Jardin Folia with their families: high chairs are available, as well as colored pencils and coloring sheets for them to use during the meal (there’s also a changing table in the restroom).
A set menu is available on weekdays, excluding school holidays and public holidays: for €20, it includes a main course and a dessert. Otherwise, expect to pay €20 for the large sharing platter, €10 to €13 for a starter, €19 to €25 for a main course, and €9 to €10 for a dessert. The menu also features excellent house-made cocktails and mocktails, alcoholic drinks and soft drinks.
After your visit to Jardin Folia, be sure to stop by the historic Jardin des Plantes (the chef recommends it) and its beautiful Alpine Garden, or even the Grande Galerie de l'Évolution!
