After being closed for very long months, the Palace of Versailles is happy to be able to reopen to visitors. Starting from May 19, the palace, the gardens, and the Trianon estate are accessible again.

We are looking forward to this reopening: the Palace of Versailles, its gardens, the Trianon estate reopen from May 19, 2021 with a fitted health protocol. The Palace is part of the cultural places allowed to resume during the second phase of the lockdown exit plan.

This reopening is the occasion to discover the renovated Royal chapel. The construction work lasted three years, but it was more than necessary: the chapel did not experience major renovation for over 40 years! Let us (re)discover the King’s cabinet, Louis XV’s working room that has been renovated mostly thanks to Rolex’s patronship. “This cabinet is one of the emblematic rooms in the palace because of the duality of a place of power and a very private place” where the kings used to keep their medal collections, Catherine Pégard explains in HuffPost.

But that is not all! The Palace of Versailles is proud to present the renovated Bosquet de la Reine, and Louis-Philippe's private apartment at the Grand Trianon that has been renovated as well. The famous palace also offers a new tour dedicated to Napoleon I, on the last floor, celebrating the bicentenary of the Emperor's death.

From May 19, visitors of the Palace can also admire the Hyacinthe Rigaud exhibition. Do not miss this occasion to see it: it stays on shorter than expected because of lockdown, but it holds some wonders likely to delight History and art buffs.
