Head for the palace Le Lutetia, and more specifically its restaurant Le Saint-Germain, to discover the new seasonal menu by Executive Chef Benjamin Brial (ex-Ritz, Apicius, George V), to be enjoyed under the famous colorful glass roof designed by Fabrice Hyber.
On the menu, French gastronomic classics revisited and modernized, to our great delight. Benjamin Brial's idea is to infuse these perfectly mastered dishes with flavors straight from Asia, here a rare pepper, there an exotic citrus fruit. A tasty journey awaits!
So it was with open mouths that we went to try out this new menu, and let us tell you, we loved what we tasted.
For lunch and dinner, Le Saint-Germain offers an 89€ menu with a starter, meat or fish dish and dessert. For starters, we had the opportunity to try the Vendée foie gras in jelly, Sarawak pepper and fresh blackberries (32€), which is tasty; and the Yellowtail raw, miso butter and lemon caviar (28€), which is not to be missed; freshness and flavor are the order of the day!
We then move on to the main courses, with perfectly snacked scallops on one side of the table, accompanied by a tasty risotto of small spelt with bisque and kohlrabi (42€), and on the other, roast yellow Tauzin chicken, grilled pumpkin, kumquat and cubeb jus (38€), so tender!
But above all, we advise you to try the36-hour lamb confit and effiloché, salsify au jus, capers and lemon (42€), a sea-watch that we won't soon forget!
And don't miss the desserts, created by chef Benjamin Brial in collaboration with pastry chef Nicolas Guercio!
For example, we love the chocolate dessert with buckwheat ice cream (€18), and also the magnificent pear (€18) with Madagascar vanilla mousse and mushroom ice cream (!) set in a rural undergrowth. Good for the eyes, good for the taste buds.
Go there with your eyes closed, you're in good hands for a tasty lunch in a dream setting.
