Frida, the artistic and bucolic restaurant at the Maison Barrière Vendôme hotel

The 5* Maison Barrière Vendôme boutique hotel has a well-kept secret: its Frida restaurant, set in a charming, leafy patio far from the noise of the city.

Recently opened on the chic Place Vendôme, the 5* boutique hotel Maison Barrière Vendôme is a small haven of luxury, calm and pleasure. In addition to its rooms and suites, which pay homage to the greatest female figures in history, the hotel boasts a confidential bar-restaurant on the second floor, carefully hidden away in a hushed corridor.

Charming, this table has an interior space with a few tables facing the bar, and a second room on the garden side, under a veranda that opens onto the greenery as soon as the sun comes out.

In a bucolic and intimate atmosphere, this restaurant named Frida in homage to the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo - some of whose paintings are visible in the form of stained glass windows above the tables - opens for lunch and dinner, for hotel guests as well as outsiders.

The decor is meticulous and elegant, with definite artistic influences (Murano chandeliers above the bar, colorful designer seating, tree-lined patio and long royal blue banquette topped with colorful cushions), direct nods to the art of Frida Kahlo, icon of feminism, painting and fashion.

On the plates, chef Claudia Rivera offers cuisine typical of Parisian hotels and palaces( truffledcroque-monsieur, gourmet salads, burgers), sometimes with a twist, like this artichoke with creamy vinaigrette (24€), this falafel version of Caesar salad (29€) and this wagyu beef burger (33€).

But a few South American delights are also on the menu, such as avocado tuna tartare with coconut sauce (26€) or sea bream ceviche with lime marinade (24€), both well executed. Desserts, meanwhile, are by Christophe Adam - millefeuilles, lemon meringue pie, éclair du moment and the like.

The cocktails, the work of head bartender Alexandre Terwagne, also pay tribute to women who have marked their era, echoing the artistic identity of Maison Barrière Vendôme. A place to discover for a candlelit dinner or a drink, in an artistic and bucolic atmosphere far from the noise of the city.
