Are you looking for a nice restaurant in a smart and trendy atmosphere? Head to the Montgolfière to discover Rond, the coffee shop restaurant but open bar style serving you from morning to evening in the week and until 6 p.m. at weekends.
As soon as one arrives, they are captivated by this gorgeous place. Under a bright and stunning glass roof, one can have a seat for lunch or eat on the go. At the back, the counter is the place where you can order and everything is open-plan. Order at the counter before finding a seat at one of the tables, or even on the sofas with a coffee table.
At first, Rond is a year-long project of talks and thoughts with Phamily First, an absolute reference of the Parisian food scene, led by Julien Pham and Marie Coquebert (to whom one owes a series of innovative culinary venues and events including the Tontine temporary restaurant alongside Céline Pham), the menu has been created by Marine Gora and Romain Tellier, the Gramme restaurant team.
Rond serves a menu mixing wellness and good food with Scandinavian influences. The young chef, Lia Leguay, unveils a 100% homemade menu made with the best of local produces complying with seasonality. For instance, we love the tasty and fluffy buns from Mamiche and the delicious strong coffee selected by Ten belles. Note this place is open to the members of the club and their guests.
When we came, we got the scrumptious granola, very-well topped.
The sweet potato waffles filled with bresaola, egg and chard were just easy to eat.
And do not miss the fluffy Bun Mamiche with spicy dressing and stuffed with sunny-side-up, bacon and mimolette cheese.
Another specialty, the Smorebord with tapenade. Get the deviled eggs, fennel and kohlrabi.
Finish with the dessert of the day or a cookie and you are just in tip-top shape to go on with your day.
And from 5 p.m., move to pre-dinner drink mode. Tapas are taking over. Pita breads, hummus, fleshy burrata are in with terrines and country bread. Lemony and zaatar beans are to be enjoyed as well… the whole paired with a nice list of natural wines.
