If you can't make it to Australia, then the land of kangaroos and koalas is coming to you! The 11th arrondissement of Paris welcomes a newcomer. His name? Fitzroy. Melbourne's cool, underground neighborhood has moved to the capital with the opening of this venue, described as a veritable " Public House ". A hybrid, a crossroads of cultures, a meeting place, a family home... Fitzroy aims to bring a breath of fresh air to Paris, and it's working!
Its strength? Evolve with the hours (from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. non-stop), starting with a coffee shop at breakfast time. A la carte? Gourmet offerings such as vegemite rolls, sweet and savoury pastries made from Australia's cult spread, as well as toast with homemade peanut butter, banana bread and scones. As for coffee, the place offers filter coffee in a mug, or served as a cold brew, as well as lattes made with cow's milk or vegetable milk (almond or oat), the inevitable cappuccino, and of course flat white, the Australian specialty.
Around midday, a new ambience, with seasonal produce to tantalize your taste buds, accompanied by gluten-free bread from Chambelland. Yes, young chef Mathieu Longchamps (trained at Anne-Sophie Pic, La Tour d'Argent, Château de Mercuès...) has come up with a tempting menu featuring quality products where home-made, organic and local produce are the watchwords. Fitzroy's suppliers include Terroir d'Avenir, Café Coutume and poulardes de Culoiseau...
Time flies and it's already afternoon. This is your chance to relax and indulge in your favorite pastimes: pétanque or playing Mariot Kart on a vintage console (available on the 1st floor), all while enjoying a little suds! For parents, good news: Fitzroy has a kids' area with everything you need to keep them entertained: a tree house filled with books, games, coloring pages, felt-tip pens and crayons!
Then comes the festive spirit of the Beer Garden in the evening, with a stage, live artists and DJ sets... And Beer Garden means quality beers. The menu includes beers from Gallia, the famous brewery based in Pantin, as well as Vaucelles, a young French craft brewery specializing in abbey beers. If you prefer foreign beers, opt for Lagunitas' IPA. And for lovers of clever beverages, Fitzroy also offers a number of must-have cocktails based on rum, gin or vodka.
To accompany these beverages, make way for home-made dishes to share, like these delicious cod accras with citrus sauce, or the excellent trio of mini cheeseburgers (French Charolais beef, cheddar and bacon) without forgetting the famous little pizzas, specialties of the house. We fall for the addictive " Truffle Shuffle " (truffle shavings, stracciatella and parmesan) and melt for the " More Cheese " (mozzarella fior di latte, gorgonzola, scamorza, goat's cheese, parmesan, stracciatella).
And for those with a sweet tooth, we can't recommend our " Big Little Desserts ", featuring cheesecake, strawberry tart and chocolate mousse.
Finish the evening with a live set from promising artists, a set in partnership with Radio Nova DJs, or vinyl and disco evenings to take you back in time! On weekends and public holidays, it's Brunch! And it's all à la carte, depending on your mood. A whole program to discover right now at Fitzroy, in the 11th arrondissement!
