Gourmet food courts continue to pop up all over in the Hauts-de-Seine. Following the opening of Halle Flachat and Halle des Victoires, a new player is arriving: the Biltoki Hall of Rueil-Malmaison. For those unfamiliar, Biltoki, meaning "the gathering place" in Basque, is situated on the heights of Mont Valérien, right in the heart of the new eco-district of the Arsenal. This spot is shaping up to become the newest hub for food lovers in western Paris. Designed to bring together various culinary options, it offers a welcoming space where families and friends can gather. Essentially, the kind of place that just makes you feel good.
The official opening took place on Friday, December 5th, and ever since, the venue has been bustling with activity. Just a heads-up, the grand inauguration celebration is scheduled for this Friday, December 12th, starting at 6 p.m.. A whole weekend of great deals and memorable experiences awaits. Here's what’s on the agenda:
A friendly atmosphere, just the way we like it.
Located within a sprawling 3,200 m² hall that has replaced the old NATO building, this new spot brings together around twenty independent vendors and restaurateurs—each passionate about their craft. Open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., Halle de l'Arsenal invites visitors on a culinary journey. From a Basque-influenced bistro to a wine bar, with flavors spanning Africa and Asia, it's like taking a trip around the world—all without leaving Rueil.
The concept is straightforward: it's a place to come anytime during the day to enjoy a coffee, a drink, settle into one of the freely accessible tables with free Wi-Fi, chat at the counter, nibble on some bites, brunch, and of course, indulge in great food. A true modern village square, modeled after other Biltoki halls that are popular all across France, such as the Halles d'Issy within the Eiffel historic halls. Here, there's no fuss—just good restaurants, a friendly atmosphere, and a warm setting where everyone feels at home.
Among the vendors waiting for you in this Halle Biltoki, you'll find a vibrant lineup of talented artisans, all exclusively from the Île-de-France region. In fact, it's important to note that Biltoki Halls work solely with local players, setting them apart from national or international restaurateurs. This local focus is what makes each Hall unique. Here, about 30% of the stands are from Rueillois (residents of Rueill) and the rest hail from across the Île-de-France. The goal isn't to serve typical street food but rather to offer high-quality dining options. Rest assured, burgers are still on the menu — just a short hop from good old French bistro cuisine:
This diversity is the hallmark of Biltoki, a family business launched in 2009 by the Alaman brothers and their childhood friend Jérôme Lesparre. Now present in a dozen cities (Anglet, Bordeaux, Angers, Béziers, Toulon, Rouen, Issy-les-Moulineaux, Villeneuve d'Ascq, Amiens), the brand boasts over 180 partner retailers and welcomes over 8 million visitors a year. With Rueil-Malmaison and soon Annecy, Biltoki continues its mission: to bring us together around what we all love: good, simple, shared food.
You can imagine that a lively venue like this will host a variety of events throughout the year. Visitors can enjoy family-friendly activities such as Christmas caroling on December 20, or celebrate the New Year in style with music, oysters, and champagne. Additionally, several screens and projectors scattered around the venue will be perfect for sports enthusiasts, especially fans of rugby and football.
This venue offers nearly a thousand seats. There are 300 spots on the mezzanine, perfect for private events and large groups, 350 seats on the ground floor, and 300 outdoor terrace seats. The terrace, in particular, is quite charming, as it overlooks a pedestrianized, tree-lined square in front of the renowned Monsieur Claude.
To make access to this eco-neighborhood easier, a spacious underground parking lot with 400 spaces is available. It significantly simplifies family outings and visits.
Geothermal heating ensures a consistent temperature of 19°C year-round, without the need for air conditioning. The restaurant features genuine reusable tableware, which is managed and washed on-site with proper sorting. Say goodbye to all packaging waste. The atmosphere here is friendly and inviting, so skip the impersonal ordering systems—you're encouraged to walk up, chat with the staff, and place your orders for dishes, drinks, and desserts in person.
Right next door, on the Place Line Renaud, things are also hotting up. This 5,000 m² space is already home to new shops and is getting greener with the planting of numerous trees. It's also home to Monsieur Claude, the panoramic restaurant on stilts imagined by Bistrots Pas Parisiens in collaboration with Danny Khezzar, who designed the menu. From its rooftop, you have a breathtaking view of the gourmet hall.
TheArsenal eco-district is a project well worth a visit. Awarded the "100 Innovative and Ecological Neighborhoods" label, this new district is growing out of former industrial and military wasteland at the foot of Mont Valérien. When completed, it will provide around 2,500 housing units and an attractive urban mix. The most striking feature is the 5.4 hectares of green space, with the Jacques Chirac park stretching over 600 meters. A green lung in the middle of the city, where you can take a deep breath between two shopping trips.
Transport-wise, the upcoming Rueil-Suresnes Mont-Valérien station on Line 15 of the Grand Paris Express, scheduled for 2030, will make it easier to reach the hall. Perfect for visitors coming from Suresnes, Saint-Cloud, Garches, or other parts of western Paris. In the meantime, you can reach Place Line Renaud via the RER A or Transilien (lines L and U) to either Rueil-Malmaison or Suresne-Mont Valérien stations—both just a 10-minute ride from La Défense or 20 minutes from Les Halles. From there, several bus routes (244, 141, 241, 263) service the neighborhood, with stops at Les Godardes or Place Line Renaud, just a short walk from the hall.
This hall is also the fruit of a real joint project between Biltoki and the town of Rueil-Malmaison. The idea is to create a modern agora, a place where people can meet, get together and share a moment. As Bixente Alaman, co-founder of Biltoki, puts it:"In Rueil, we want to find what we love: full tables, mingling voices, the smell of a simmering dish. For us, that's what a hall is: a lively, noisy, human place. When local people meet and talk to each other, we know we've succeeded."
Patrick Ollier, Mayor of Rueil-Malmaison, is also thinking big for this hall:"Ideally located not far from the next station on line 15 of the Grand Paris Express metro, Rueil-Suresnes-Mont-Valérien, due to open in 2030, the halle gourmande will not only be a new destination for the residents of Rueil, including those on the plateau, but also for those from the neighboring towns of Suresnes, Saint-Cloud and Garches."
If you're on the lookout for a new must-visit spot to end the year on a high note, now's the perfect time to check it out: mark December 12, 2025 on your calendar for the launch of this exciting new venue that’s sure to win you over. It’s a great chance to gather with friends, enjoy some top-notch local produce, and share a memorable experience in a cozy, inviting atmosphere.
