Looking for a good ice cream parlour in Paris ? Artigelato is the story of a financial advisor who was inspired to set up his own business and turn his hand to artisanal Italian ice cream. With the help of a friend and wife who had been ice-cream makers in Tunis for 18 years, he decided to make a living by pleasing people.
He decided to set up in the 9th arrondissement because of its high population and tourist density. Having opted for quality, he wanted to be able to capture the locals and turn them into a loyal clientele. Paris won out in just a few months, as the store has received rave reviews and a clientele that happily returns.
On site, we discover a large boutique that has the advantage of offering indoor seating to enjoy its ice creams, which is quite rare. Customers are systematically invited to taste the different flavors before deciding, which helps us make the right choices.
Artigelato's ice creams are made on site using fresh produce whenever possible. Sorbets contain around 60% fruit. As for ice cream, there are no eggs, only milk and fresh cream.
Among the must-try flavors, we recommend the 3 pistachio ice creams. This is pure pistachio ice cream. So don't be surprised if the ice cream isn't green (in fact, real pistachio isn't green, but rather a brownish-greenish hint). So there's the pistachio Royale, the orange blossom version and the rosewater version. Our favorite is the Royal, which makes you feel like you're eating a spoonful of pistachio paste.
Another temptation is the vanilla-olive oil ice cream, which is sure to please fans of Mediterranean flavors. But don't worry, classic vanilla is also on the menu. Of course, there are many flavors to choose from, so all you have to do is try. For our part, we were tempted by the pistachio and caramel and the strawberry-mint and mango for freshness.
There are also milkshakes and shakes without milk, as well as cold drinks. Count on €4.20 for the small format and €5.90 for the medium, whether in cones or jars. You can also opt for toppings. We've chosen to add melted milk chocolate, pistachio and marshmallows.
Afterwards, you're free to sit back and relax or take a stroll through the neighborhood, just a stone's throw from the department stores.
This is the place to go if you're looking for real homemade ice cream. Of course, industrial ice cream is cheaper, but is it good for you?
Enjoy your ice cream, friends!
