Since the start of August 2026, a restaurant with table service has taken up residence in the heart of the Thoiry ZooSafari. Until now limited to guests staying in the park's accommodations, Azimut is opening to the general public, by reservation, every evening for dinner only. As the animals settle in for the night, guests can sit in the main hall or on the terrace depending on the weather, with a privileged view of the Arctic wolf pack.
Amid the rugged landscapes that surround it, a seasonal kitchen is served at this almost-wild dining table, guided by the rhythm of nature, for a tasting experience a touch more original than the ordinary. Whether you stay on site in one of the park’s unusual accommodations, alongside elephants, bears or wolves, or if you come specifically for the evening, the establishment offers a time-out from the everyday.
Warm to the core, Azimut opens with a wood-warm, refined decor that sits perfectly within its nature-forward outdoor setting. With a hint of African safari vibe, the atmosphere is easily transportive, especially as your eyes are immediately drawn to the large glass façade and the outdoor terrace, which directly overlooks the wolves’ enclosure, twelve of which were present on our visit.
On the plate, the menu currently leans toward summer, delicate recipes, with offerings of high quality. For starters, the duo seasonal melon and chiffonade of raw ham (12€) remains classic but consistently effective and refined, while the salmon gravlax with beet (14€) immediately catches the eye with its generous portion and bold color, its tenderness, and the lightness of an airy lemon cream.
Our only regret on the night was that the beef confit in tacos with crushed potatoes wasn’t available on the menu. That said, the other options, few in number and chosen to guarantee the beautiful quality of the ingredients, delighted us. The grilled chicken supreme (20€) with its tender flesh comes with a summer caponata in a ratatouille-inspired style, nicely spiced, and a silky black garlic cream.
On the sea-facing side, the grilled sea bass fillet (€25) shines with its perfectly crisp skin and moist, tender flesh, while barigoule zucchini—crisp yet melt-in-the-mouth—soaks up the chimichurri sauce they swim in, adding a touch more flavor.
A light dish that invites you to indulge in dessert! To accompany it, a wide range of drinks is on offer, from a refreshing cocktail to a glass of wine, including Thoiry’s local bière or a soft lemonade.
To close the dinner on a gentle note, the desserts lean on freshness. Between the pavlova with summer fruits (9.50 €), a generous slice with a crackly meringue, and the strawberry soup paired with lemon sorbet and a hint of basil oil (9 €), the finale is the perfect ending to a night that feels closest to the wild.
During the meal, if you settle on the terrace, you watch the wolves move with fascination, taking in the daily life around them, with some occasionally edging closer out of curiosity.
The kids are entitled to a special menu designed just for them—the Louveteau! For 15 euros, a simple, kid-friendly option includes a main course (chicken fillet with mashed potatoes or macaroni with ham) and a dessert (chocolate mousse or organic ice cream), plus a flavored water syrup of their choice.
For an evening out, the venue sits in the heart of the wildlife park, near the car-safari entrance, with dedicated parking, which is why dinner access requires an online reservation. To get there, the easiest option is of course by car, but you can also take the Transilien Line N and stop at Mantes-La-Jolie, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, or Villiers Neauphle Ponchartrain stations, then hop on buses 7818 or 5355.
Note that if you’re staying on-site for the full immersive experience, there’s an option to have dinner included, with a choice of two-course sets: a starter and a main course, or a main course and a dessert.
