The Hotel de Crillon enchants Parisians’ and tourists’ Christmas with a scrumptious and festive teatime created by pastry chef Matthieu Carlin. On the menu, a magical break at the heart of an iconic palace in town.

As the Holidays are just around the corner, Paris grows more magical. Looking over the Place de la Concorde, the Hôtel de Crillon is transformed to take us to a magic atmosphere. Come in the lobby surrounded by Christmas trees and walk through the looking glass. Discover an enchanted palace with decorations both sophisticated and festive. Like in a dream, head to the Jardin d’Hiver. This is where you will enjoy Matthieu Carlin’s teatime.

The pastry chef has seduced foodies in town with creations based on natural flavors changing with the seasons. And for this Christmas 2021 in Paris, Matthieu Carlin has decided to treat you to a very soft break in this comfortable lounge making you fall in love with the winter. Under a crystal tree, the display stand is a feast for the eyes before it is for the taste buds. It is served with a hot drink of your choice. The menu features exceptional teas, as well as a very thick old-fashioned hot chocolate.

Spicy shortbreads and raspberry jam finish this transition to our childhood. Then, enjoy the foretaste to a festive meal! Between exceptional products and regressive delicacies, Carlin introduces us to the magic of the Holidays. On the first floor of this teatime, enjoy the savory offer based on truffle croque-monsieur, salmon waffle with marinated avocado and finger lime to shake up the taste buds and the staple lobster roll filled with lobster flesh.

On the floor above, enjoy some very light and low in sugar citrus fruit cheesecake, revisited Mont-Blanc with blackcurrant for a nice balance, as well as the cappuccino, a gluten-free and vegan creation with a strong coffee taste perfectly matching with crunchy buckwheat. At the top of the display, you can choose between the traditional scones (one based on fig, the other plain), or brioches for a Frenchier touch to your teatime. The latter, stuffed with chocolate-hazelnut or vanilla, are simply irresistible. Once cut, the sound of the crunchy flaky pastry is delighting, and the runny core is a must. Heart-stopping!

Last step of this teatime, a snowflake that is the individual version of Matthieu Carlin’s yule log. The entremets enables us to finish this teatime with something light. Covering hazelnut dacquoise cake and roasted hazelnuts, some marmalade, as well as yellow lemon crémeux for a bit of peps and freshness, as well as dule de leche for a regressive touch. Some fromage blanc mousse to top it all and delight you with a smooth and cloud-like texture. After the tasting, you will probably be tempted to see the Crillon’s yule log coming to your Holiday table.
