This summer 2019, 5-star Hotel Cinq Codet has fitted its shady terrace an asset on these hot summer days.
Set between the Eiffel Tower and the Dôme des Invalides, the Cinq Codet is built in a building from the 30’s, a former telephone exchange on the left bank. This hotel is very discreet and its well-hidden terrace, safe from prying stares.
Between the four walls of the hotel, Cinq Codet terrace is very quiet. A nice atmosphere music can be heard, but it’s not too loud and don’t disturb the patrons. Filled with plants, trees and good-smelling flowers, this terrace is an exquisite spot to enjoy a nice weather while being protected from the sun.
For meals, tables are laid with golden cutlery. Chiquette meals served on the terrace start with appetizers, heirloom tomato gazpacho and small veal spring rolls and miso sauce that has a nice taste of stewed meat.
Chiquette menu doesn’t tell the difference between starters and main courses, only with savory and sweet dishes. If you want a savory dish as the starter, you choose the tasting size.
As a starter, you can have a board of Iberian charcuterie to share including 3 types of cold cuts including an exquisite ham. You can also enjoy it all with wine such as rosé Fonscolombe le Domaine, AOP Côteaux d’Aix en Provence Bio from 2017, a light wine made by the owner of the group to which the place belongs. A perfect menu also great as an appetizer.
Between a new Chiquette burger and a classic Caesar salad, chef David Maroleau serves his Signature dish, semi-cooked organic king shrimp tartare, very delicious, and served with Koshi Hikari rice, a soft Japanese rice absorbing the lemongrass broth soaking the whole. A hearty dish decorated with a few flowers.
Other Asia-inspired dish, the veal fillet, perfect cooked as “weeping tiger” tataki, a rather uncommon dish because it’s rare to serve veal (and not beef) that way, served with fava and herb curry, snow peas and edamame, perfectly seasoned.
If you’ve got still room left for dessert, the Citron Niçois with its honey and candied ginger sorbet, its citrus fruit and cardamom nage and its black lemon opaline is very light and is easily eaten so that you can end your meal on a sour note.
For more deliciousness, the goat’s brousse is cooked like a cheesecake with rhubarb and ginger compote, fresh strawberries and raspberries. It’s very good.
And Sunday is brunch day at Chiquette!
On this terrace, you can also enjoy ice creams created by David Maroleau and even tapas when it’s time for an appetizer. According to the time of the day and your cravings, sip some champagne, detox juices or rosé wines.
The elegant and design furniture of this new terrace has bee created by Minotti. Sofas and armchairs made of metal and cords rub shoulder with coffee tables featuring a stone and ceramic round top. Braziers as well as heating bells (in case nights get chillier) complete the layout.
Cinq Codet terrace provides intimate, warm and confidential areas to work quietly or simply relax.
Chiquette kitchen will be closed from July 30 to August 25, 2019 included. Yet, the terrace remains open. It will serve the menu of the bar such as tapas, burgers and other club sandwiches for lunch. As for dinner, you’ll be able to discover a jar offer.
Starting August 26, 2019, Chiquette menu will be renewed from mid-September and served once again on the terrace.
