There are not many of them launching their businesses in these troubled times. Their audacity and fearlessness must be hailed.
Snack Attack restaurant opens from April 19, 2021 in Paris 9th arrondissement.
We should rather speak of the Snack Attack counter because the restaurant is so small and cute and only provides takeout and delivery. And even when the health crisis will be over. This is the principle of Snack Attack.
Behind Snack Attack, this street-food counter, stands Orly Olivier. This French-American women coming from Los Angeles has been living in Paris for four years and was dreaming of opening her restaurant.
First a photographer, she ended up in the food industry thanks to her grand-mother’s cookbook who is a restaurant owner in Tunisia.
Consultant in the gastronomy field in California since 2012, she eventually makes her dream come true in Paris.
She confesses Snack Attack is a “Caliterranean” restaurant where the food is a mix of California and the Mediterranean.
The menu of Snack Attack is voluntarily short – Orly is on her own – and likely to change with the seasons.
For lunch, 3 different sandwiches, 2 mixed salads, and 3 sides. Nothing more, except a few sweet and savory American-inspired pastries! Including brownies, cookies, cakes…
But Snack Attack first and foremost bets on daily indulging moments. Which explains you may have to wait a bit at the counter. As a matter of fact, sandwiches are not prepared ahead of time, but by the order. Furthermore, Orly - absolutely to have opened Snack Attack - does chat a bit with her patrons.
Snack Attack's egg bacon and cheese muffin - an egg topping some puff pastry filled with leek and onions - is very pretty and whets the appetite.
The fish sando in a bun from Léonie Bakery holds some freshly prepared fish fried to order, served with some delicious homemade aioli, and many homemade pickled vegetables. A super hearty and delicious sandwich.
But at Snack Attack you better make sure you still have some room left for desserts, because they are really worth the trip.
The chocolate and fleur de sel cookie is to die for.
As for the huge chocolate cake, a layer cake sold by the slice - and called "Everyday is your birthday cake" - we feel like we are indeed celebrating our birthday while enjoying it. Perfectly balanced in chocolate, even though impressive, it can be eaten very easily at the end of the meal. The secret? It is as light as a cloud, yes it is!
At Snack Attack, lemonade and iced tea are fresh and homemade as well.
But Snack Attack also relies on other mouthwatering moments of the day.
For the aperitif, Olivier has come up with an assortment of small dishes between antipasti and mezzes.
On the menu then, marinated olives, pickled vegetables, meatballs, mini toasts, and even labneh.
For those more into a (real) dinner, Snack Attack has come up with two kits.
one based on tacos to do tacos yourself with stewed beef. And another one taking you not to Mexico but Tunisia with three kemias.
The originality of Snack Attack is the place is set by a nursery school and a park, and has created a kid special offering.
At Snack Attack, kiddos can enjoy chicken nuggets, lasagnas, and even stuffed potatoes.
Be rest assures, these dishes are not for kids only. Grown-ups can also order them.
Snack Attack cuisine is available to takeaway and delivery on Deliveroo and UberEats, as well as in direct sale because the restaurant hired their own delivery person.
