Good news for your wallet: Bouillon Chartier has just opened opposite Gare de l'Est. On the menu, as usual, (very) affordable French bistro classics.

And that's three! After the mythical first address on rue du Faubourg Montmartre and the address opening in 2019 on the other side of the Seine, in the Montparnasse district, a third Bouillon Chartier has just opened its doors in the 10th arrondissement of Paris!

Chartier's success is based on its French cuisine, offered at mini prices without compromising on quality. Opened in 1896 in a magnificent Art Deco setting by brothers Camille and Frédéric Chartier, the first Bouillon Chartier was already inspired by Pierre-Louis Duval, a butcher who, in 1860, had the idea of serving a hearty, very affordable soup based on low-cut meats in a room adjoining his butcher's shop.

Brilliantly taken over by Gérard and Christophe Joulie in 2007, theParisian institution saw the birth in 2019 of a little sister on the Montparnasse side. And now, a new Bouillon Chartier has opened in eastern Paris, opposite Gare de l'Est. It's an opportunity to savor the great French bistro classics, prepared without fuss or pretension, but as tasty as ever and, above all, accessible to as many people as possible!

On the menu of this new bouillon are the historic eggs mayonnaise offered at €2 decades later, grated carrots at €1, the excellent herring apple in oil at €3.80, two slices of pork snout in vinaigrette at €3.90; and on the main course, you can get away with €6.50 frankfurters with fries and €13 oven-roasted sea bass with pan-fried vegetables.

The very generous andouillette with mustard sauce (12€) and the pièce du boucher with pepper sauce (12.20€) are sure to please meat lovers and lovers of grandma's cooking.
