La Fontaine des Innocents
Originally tucked away in the heart of the Halles, this fountain was once known as the Fountain of the Nymphs and stood about forty meters from its current spot. Commissioned by King Henry II, it was erected in 1548 by Pierre Lescot. Sculptor Jean Goujon handled the decoration and the sculptures. Now listed as a Historic Monument, the fountain has undergone numerous architectural changes over the years.



The Palmier Fountain
