Supernova, the new Marais Italian restaurant

If you're a fan of Italian cuisine , Supernova has just opened its doors in the upper Marais district, and you've got to check it out.

This new restaurant offers authentic yet modern Italian cuisine. But don't expect to find any pizzas, as Supernova 's focus is on seafood, with recipes from owner Sacha's Italian mother and grandmother.

Once you've contemplated the lovely corrugated wood ceiling, the chic terrazzo floor and the large kitchen opening onto the long bar, you're ready to take a look at the menu. On the menu, a bevy of pasta, mozzarella and seafood dishes.

For starters, you'll be tempted by the meltingly creamy stracciatella (11€); the fresh starter of the day, citrus crab with seaweed espuma; and panisses (9€), the chef's famous chickpea fries, dipped in a lemon sauce, which are close to perfection.

As for the main courses, we let our craving for fish and mozzarella (again!) carry us away, choosing the octopus risotto (24€), which is well lemony, with generous chunks of octopus to our great delight; and the spaghetti with truffle burrata heart (20€), which we decide to try without extra Speck ham, to save a little room for dessert.

And for dessert, we let ourselves be tempted by an affogato al caffè (7.5€), the famous ice cream drowned in espresso and topped with chantilly; but also a tiramisu della mamma (7.5€), once again on the very good advice of the team, since this tiramisu is original in that it's made with dark chocolate chips, according to a recipe from Sacha's mother, giving it a surprisingly crunchy texture.

An espresso Martini and a Moscow Mule later, we're ready to leave Supernova, looking forward to the opening of its terrace in fine weather, and the launch of its weekly brunch, revisited with an Italian twist, expected this Sunday!
