Chez Bichettes, on the terrace, you can share grandma's dishes, made with local, seasonal produce, in an ultra-convivial atmosphere. Simple, comforting cuisine!

Just a stone's throw from the Canal Saint-Martin, a small, friendly cantine invites you to relax on the terrace: Bichettes. The place is run by Agathe Fondeville and Hortense Hérisson, two friends who love simple cooking and grandma's recipes, which they have chosen to showcase in their little restaurant in the 10th arrondissement.

In a warm decor of bric-a-brac, dried flowers and good taste, Bichettes brings back memories of Sundays spent at grandma's, with a short, simple menu of traditional and slightly regressive recipes, made with good local and seasonal produce, sourced from small producers. All served, we can tell you... on grandma's beautiful ceramic plates, each one more beautiful than the last.

The idea here is to share small plates between guests, as is now customary in Paris restaurants. At the time of our visit, the menu included generous rillettes de cochon (9€), green asparagus with fromage frais and strawberries (14€) - it's hard to get more seasonal! -A handful offried squid (€10 for a small plate, €24 for a large one), and mimosa eggs (€4).

Among the more substantial dishes to share, we'd like to mention the herring chorizo and goat's cheese (11€), a tasty combination, but also and above all the amazing beef bourguignon croquettes (12€), both melting and crunchy, very tasty, which reminded us of the croquettes we liked so much at Diggity.

We accompany our lunch with a refreshing Saint-Germain Spritz, followed by an excellent glass of orange wine - Bichettes makes it a point of honor to offer natural and biodynamic wines - before concluding with an airy chocolate mousse, created by Cassandra, the place's young pastry chef. Simple but good products, a sunny terrace and exemplary conviviality- we'll be back!
