A white brick façade, XXL bay windows, a flashy turquoise-blue door, an all-yellow terrace with two large palm trees, a forest of cacti in ambush... That's what welcomes you to Cali Uptown, Palm Springs atmosphere guaranteed. Outside, on the sunny 40-seat terrace, you can savor recipes that promise a trip to the USA.
There are many specialties to discover, including the chubby lobster bun, lemon chicken & buttercorn, summer veggie gratin, los famosos huevos rancheros con tortillas and the hot flatbread with yoghurt dip and crushed pistachios. Of course, as at Cali Sisters, all these recipes are made with top-quality seasonal produce, sourced from the finest local artisans.
But the Vigand sisters' classics are also part of the menu, like the spring vegetable shakshuka, the cripsy rice bowl - wild rice, maple bacon, radish, kale and fresh herbs; and of course the melt-in-your-mouth meatballs with ricotta and San Marzano tomato sugo. What's more, the place is open all day!
Dessert options include brioche toast XXL with honey-chocolate ganache and seasonal fruit, ricotta fritters with a yoghurt & maple syrup dip to share; not forgetting the menu of smoothies and hot drinks, with a new addition, the coffee shake (espresso shot with almond butter, almond milk and dates).
