And good news for foodies, despite the current health situation, the Guide Michelin intended to release a 2021 edition. It seemed unthinkable to head of the famous red book Gwendal Poullenec to release a "white vintage" after such a "dark 2020". Therefore, the guide's investigators did not hang around and explored restaurants in 200 days only, instead of the usual 365!
Therefore, last year's 29 "three-stars" are still around, while 57 new restaurants make it to Michelin 2021. And this year, 54 tables have been awarded their first star (5 more than in 2020).
In Paris and Ile-de-France, the Guide Michelin 2021 decided to award 7 restaurants with one star:
As for 2-star restaurants, Guide Michelin 2021 awards:
Last but not least, only one chef wins the third star: Alexandre Mazzia for his AM restaurant in Marseille.
Please also note that for the 2nd year row, the Guide Michelin unveiled their "étoiles vertes" (green stars) awarding tables committed with an eco-friendly approach; furthermore, 11 pastry chefs meet the Passion Dessert 2021 Award. The complete 2021 prize list is available on the official website!
Wonderful restaurants to discover and support as soon as they can reopen!
