In the heart of the 15e arrondissement of Paris, there hides a genuine urban rooftop farm. Perched atop the parc Suzanne-Lenglen, the Ferme Suzanne features an experimental vegetable garden, an edible forest, and offers participatory workshops for curious kids and adults alike.
Launched by Cultures en Ville as part of the Les Parisculteurs project, the farm now spans 1500 m² of urban crops. Here, everything is designed around permaculture and low-tech farming: respecting the seasons, promoting biodiversity, embracing a circular economy and avoiding chemical plant protection products. Every year, more than 100 varieties of fruits, vegetables, herbs and edible flowers grow here!
The Ferme Suzanne was conceived above all as a space for transmission and experimentation open to city dwellers. Throughout the year, workshops allow visitors of all ages to discover the basics of urban agriculture in a concrete and playful way.
Curious visitors can join a one-hour sensory tour to learn how the farm runs, or dive deeper into permaculture for 1h30 through hands-on workshops that combine planting, sowing, cuttings, and crop pairing. Some sessions even offer a full-day experience (6h30) in the shoes of an urban market gardener with harvest, garden upkeep, and a meal prepared from produce grown on-site!
With its edible forest, its hands-on workshops, and its unconventional view of the city, Ferme Suzanne perfectly embodies a new way of imagining nature in urban spaces. An original, inspiring, and truly green experience to discover without delay in the south of Paris!
