Head to the Cueillette de Gally, between Bailly and Saint-Cyr-l'École, to fill your basket of seasonal fruit, vegetables and flowers in a sprawling orchard-garden open to all, in the heart of the Versailles Plain. A well-known address among the Île-de-France families, and for good reason!
With its 60 hectares of fields, the Cueillette de Gally checks all the boxes for a simple and tasty outing: you stroll, you choose, you pick, then head home with produce picked at its peak. All set in a countryside setting that has the advantage of being close to Paris, without losing its farm soul.
Here, the pick-your-own experience is lived as the shortest of short supply chains. Depending on the season, you can harvest fraises, summer vegetables, apples, and pumpkins, but you can also compose a bouquet with seasonal flowers. The harvest changes throughout the year, giving a good reason to come back: tulips in spring, strawberries as soon as the sunny days arrive, tomatoes and zucchini in summer, apples at harvest, then gourds as autumn settles in.
The paths allow easy movement between plots, while the crops are designed with a respect for nature: compost inputs, winter manure, and beneficial insects to naturally curb pests. A tangible way to talk seasonality for children, without a lot of talk, basket in hand.
The Gally Pick-Your-Own is open from April to November, with free admission and no booking required. On the same site, the Ferme de Gally also lets you extend the outing with the shop boasting more than 2,500 products, the educational farm, or the workshops to suit whatever you’re in the mood for.
