At the crossroads of the 11ᵉ, 12ᵉ and 20ᵉ arrondissements of Paris, the Nation district is a particularly quiet corner of the City of Light, prized by the capital's families. With its vast square adorned by the statue of the Triumph of the Republic, the neighborhood has managed to retain a friendly atmosphere over the decades, with its many shops, cafés and brasseries making it a popular meeting point.
Tothe east of Nation, the Charonne district stands out for its authentic character and working-class past. With its cobbled streets and small town houses, Charonne is appreciated for its small village atmosphere and traditional bars and restaurants, particularly around rue de Bagnolet and rue Saint-Blaise.
In the other direction, towards the Seine, the Bercy district combines modernity and heritage. Redeveloped in the 1990s, it is now a dynamic area with many contemporary, green buildings, as well as parks - the Parc de Bercy in particular - and cultural spaces - including the Cinémathèque française, a place of pilgrimage for all good film buffs.
And then there's Bercy Village, located in former wine warehouses. With its lively boutiques, restaurants and terraces, the district is also known for its huge concert hall - the Accor Arena - which hosts sporting, musical and cultural events all year round.
From Nation to Bercy, by way of Charonne, check out our list of restaurants to discover in the area!
