At the instigation of brothers Pierre, Guillaume and Richad Moussié – already running festive venues like Chez Jeannette and Le Mansart – Bouillon Pigalle opened in 2017 and never closed since then.
Open 7 days a week, from noon to midnight, the Bouillon even distinguished itself during lockdowns launching delivery and takeaway services to keep the bond with their clientele including Parisians and tourists.
Since then, menus are available in many languages on the façade, which is a way to kill time while waiting in line – reservation being not possible, you have to grin and bear it – already thinking about the French wonders you will eat and the checkered tablecloth you will enjoy your lunch or dinner on.
Trailblazing the return of bouillons in the city – now multiplying on the Left and the Right Banks – Bouillon Pigalle serves a multitude of French bistro classics – deviled eggs, onion soup, snails, celeriac in remoulade dressing; authentic main courses – chicken, braised ham or beef steak and fries, sausage-mashed potatoes; or even vintage dishes with very French dishes such as calf’s head and gribiche sauce, veal blanquette or beef bourguignon.
Of course, foodies are right, just look at the large tables filled with friends and the wide veranda upstairs: it definitely gets your money’s worth. Starters go from €2.20 for deviled eggs to €8.80 for foie gras. Mains cost between €8.50 and €12.50, and desserts between €2.80 and €4.50, and it is definitely great to order a nice bottle of white or red wine for €10 at lunch.
You will leave with a full belly but an almost complete budget. A great bargain for small budgets and those thinking French cuisine was better then.
