The Indian Arms, Manoj Sharma's new gastropub where India meets the United Kingdom

In Paris, chef Manoj Sharma opens The Indian Arms, a gastropub inspired by London pubs where British classics meet Indian flavors. A new spot to discover in the 2nd arrondissement.

After chalking up addresses like Jugaad, Amanie, Sir Winston, or the Korean restaurants Seoul Mama, the chef Manoj Sharma unveils a new project in the heart of Paris. Since June 15, The Indian Arms has been welcoming its first guests in the 2nd arrondissement, offering an original concept that blends the world of the British pub with the bounty of Indian cuisine.

The place evokes the London gastropubs the chef rubbed shoulders with during his years in the United Kingdom. The atmosphere aims to be warm, lively and welcoming, designed to accommodate everything from professional lunches to the afterworks, family meals to evenings that spill into a cocktail. You can sense that quintessential English pub culture ethos: a vibrant spot where people come to share a drink and a few plates at any hour of the day.

In the kitchen, Manoj Sharma reinterprets several great British classics through the prism of spices and Indian flavors. The result is an original menu that remains approachable. The scotch egg is paired with a red-lentil dal, while the fish & chips take on garam masala notes. The meat crowd can opt for vindaloo pork ribs, slow-braised, or Kerala fried chicken.

The salmon marinated for 24 hours in cardamom also embodies this meeting of the two culinary cultures, while the desserts keep the journey going with burnt mango or a Masala rose brownie.

With The Indian Arms, Manoj Sharma isn’t trying to recreate a classic English pub or a traditional Indian restaurant. He envisions a hybrid space drawn from his two adopted cultures, where guests can share a generous cuisine in a relaxed, informal setting.
