Louisette is the new trendy snack bar in Paris 19th arrondissement. It opened only a few days ago, in early April, where Renard & L’Entonnoir used to be – it was a musical bookstore for kids. No worry though if you don’t see it straight away in rue de la Villette, it’s set in a small recess.
Louisette is trendy because of its thorough and intimate décor by indoor designer and set designer Annabelle Fesquet. No seat and no table look the same: you have comfortable sofas around small round coffee tables, armchairs, a large solid wood table… You can even seat on the terrace and enjoy the sun (when it’s out) or on the first floor, bathed with light, to enjoy the sun behind large patio doors.
And for the location, right in the middle of the Village Jourdain in the upper Belleville, a booming neighborhood.
Louisette has been created by Thomas and Steve who are not newbies. The two entrepreneurs opened their first snack bar in Paris 14th arrondissement, by Pernety back in 2017, Louisette. And two years later, they do it again with a second Louisette.
At Louisette, you can sip cocktails of course (Old Fashioned, Moscow Mule, Comospolitan…) for €10 or wine you can enjoy with homemade tapas and boards to share. The whole in a very Frenchy atmosphere.
On the Louisette menu, we have, for instance, hard-boiled eggs/mayonnaise, (super cute) mini leeks with raspberry vinegar with notes tending towards asparagus, a very fresh seabream ceviche with a not too spicy sauce, eggplant and artichoke caviars, salmon and beef tartares (classic or Venetian way)…
As for the boards, patrons can actually create their very own board with a selection of PDO aged cheeses from Maison Claude Anthès and cold cuts.
There are 14 kinds of charcuteries to choose (chorizo, goose rillettes, andouille, dry sausage with hazelnuts, Serrano ham, Landes duck terrine, Bresaola, coppa, lomo…) and 12 cheeses (reblochon, tomme de Savoir, brie de Melin, bleu basque, comté, Sainte-Maure de Touraine, Chabichou, Rocamadour, Fleur du maquis, Saint-Nectaire…) each portion costs between €2.50 and €4.
And on the weekend, it’s obviously brunch time at Louisette!
Said like that, we really want to have a look there. What about you?
