Since it arrived in Paris in 2015, the Asian Street Bangkok restaurant (or Street BKK for friends) has been increasing.
Today, Street BKK counts 8 restaurants in Paris and around, providing several concepts, including the latest to date: Street BKK Roast & Beer that opened by Pigalle this past November.
Behind Street Bangkok stands Norman Kolton who trained at the Vatel hotel trade school and who has worked a lot in Asia.
With the Street BKK group, he intends to provide some Thai street-food in Paris.
This is why he serves 4 concepts of Thai street-food: Fry & Beer including fried food and curries, Grill & Beer and its barbecue offer, Rice & Noodles serving rice and rice noodles galore, and Roast & Beer, the rotisserie.
Street BKK opened its 8th restaurant in Paris, rue de Douai, in the 9th arrondissement.
So far, the restaurant only serves takeout and food for delivery, but they are ready to receive the first patrons as soon as restaurants can reopen. The rather neon décor – between neon lights and t-shirts – is ready. So is the terrace only expecting Thai street food fans.
On the menu of Street BKK Roast & Beer: roasted meats!
Peking pork, Peking duck, as well as crispy pork belly, and even roasted chicken.
Meat if thoroughly prepared on site, hanging in the air that you can see from the room as the restaurant enjoys an open-plan kitchen.
The meat is delicious, masterfully cooked, very tender, juicy, moist, served with rice topped with broth, making it even more indulging.
As a starter, we treat ourselves to meat. Street BKK beef salad was filled with meat – marinated rump steak just seared Weeping Tiger style. Meat was seasoned with lemongrass, shallot, mint, and Thai chives. It was simply delicious.
As a dessert, we went for the mango-coco, or sticky rice drizzled in coconut and topped with sliced mango. It was very hearty. The coconut sauce to pour over the rice enhances it.
Street BKK menu also features homemade lemonade very strong in ginger.
But the bar list and cocktail list are being created to make sure it is ready for when the terrace opens.
We are looking forward to coming back!
