From August 24 to 30, 2026, Paris and Île-de-France enter their final big vacation week ahead of the return to school. Budget-friendly cinema, free events, festivals, sport, culture and family outings punctuate the last days of August.
From the start of the week, the commémorations de la Libération de Paris continue through August 25, while Cin'estival offers more than 100 film screenings at €5 in Palaiseau. On August 26 and 27, the Vinci Mixed Cup lets spectators attend for free a tournament bringing together the top young prospects from professional clubs in Meudon. On Thursday, August 27, a vente solidaire de cinq tonnes de fruits et légumes français is also organized in the Yvelines.
As the weekend approaches, a slew of events is lining up with Back to Hogwarts at the Château de Versailles, a major end-of-season clothing sale at low prices, the Floraisons Ludiques, or the Ganesh Festival in Paris and the Saint-Louis Festival in Fontainebleau on Sunday, August 30.
